Jacquelyn Herzig

Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner

Jacquelyn came upon the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education through her personal journey to find release and ease of life long chronic pain. After suffering through over 30 years of intolerable back pain, and trying a multitude of alternative practices in lieu of surgery, she discovered The Feldenkrais Method. With focus on her improved organization of self-use and finding a path to relieve her aches and pains, she became inspired to become a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practioner. Her goal is to share the joys and wonder of this amazing modality to others in need – whether seeking prevention of discomfort, reducing pain or simply rejoicing in finding the grace of their movement, or improving coordination and stability to get to the next level with ease.

In both her Awareness Through Movement (“ATM”) classes or her Functional Integration (“FI”) one on one, manual, hands-on sessions, she aims to help you explore yourself and your movements with mindful awareness.  Attuning yourself to how you move while allowing your nervous system to re-pattern, can allow the once impossible movements to become possible; the possible movements to become easy; and the easy movements to become elegant.

All are welcome, athletes, seniors, children, dancers, artists and adults of every stripe. Everyone can benefit from Feldenkrais lessons. Jacquelyn offers her 1 hour her ATM classes currently online by signing up for a series, and will resume classes at Roxbury Park when Covid is no longer an issue by registering through their portal, and  her 45 minute one-on-one, FI sessions, through hand’s on manual therapy by scheduling an appointment. Either way, you can reconnect with yourself with a new perspective that permits freer movements.

Bring wonder and curiosity to your journey as you learn to use your skeleton to relieve unnecessary muscular tension while retraining your neurological system.

“We do not work with people's problems, but with their health. Health as the capacity to recover from shock; the ability to overcome obstacles; the capacity to live one's dreams”

— Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais
